I am very excited, yet trepidacious, about my upcoming interviews with Serving In Missions in North Carolina next week. Here are some interesting connections that may or may not have anything to do with my heart matching the mission of SIM. I carried a SIM business card in my purse for two years after a weekend missions seminar. I met David Nixon on the flights from Atlanta to Johannesburg, South Africa, three years ago. David is in meetings to see if SIM will take over directorship of The NOAH Project. I connected with a volunteer/board member at the children's shelter who in-laws were missionaries in Ethiopia with SIM for 35 years. I have since had the opportunity to meet with the wife (a nurse) three times and hear about her experiences of going, serving, trusting God and life of faith.

SIM is based on service, one of my strengths. Ministry with them involves doing what you know how to do--from nursing to construction work, from teaching to digging wells, supported by prayer and living among, living out your faith and loving on the people who need your services, teaching, encouragement, Biblical training, etc.

"There is no greater joy, nor greater reward, than to make a fundamental difference in someones life. --Sister Mary Rose McGeady
