Opportunities in the field

There is a vast array of opportunities on the mission field. At Urbana, I learned of a dizzying number of projects, plans and missions. There were 270 mission agencies represented in the Exhibit hall each afternoon. Many others had to be turned away due to lack of space.

Most aligned with the passion God has put in my heart were Mercy Ships, Serving in Mission, African Inland Mission and World Vision. Each has 'medical missions in Africa' as a portion of their service and outreach. Each is a relatively large agency that would be able to provide logistical and emotional support to a single woman working in the field.

Much more research is necessary before I apply to an agency, but it is exciting to know there are many ministries serving the sick, the poor and the downtrodden, as Jesus did when He walked on Earth.
