I'm Accepted!

I am in the program! I learned today, through a phone call from the nursing program director, that I have been accepted into nursing school. Tuesday the 29th is the first day of class. I'm ecstatic.

The Lord’s goodness surrounds us at every moment. I walk through it almost with difficulty, as through thick grass and flowers. RW Barber

Trust

Dictionary.com first defines trust like this--reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence. It is so cool that there is no one more worthy of my confidence than the One in whom I place my trust. My heart is trusting, my head needs frequent reminders of that reality.

I am attempting to trust God at this time in my life for many things:
--getting into the Access Nursing Program
--succeeding in the nursing program
--keeping my stomach settled during particular nursing tasks
--finding a new job or having a new position created for me at the children's shelter
--not exceeding my income while working only part-time during the next 15 months
--not neglecting family and friendship relationships in the busyness
--being able to continue fellowship at church and community group during the next 15 months
--moving to Africa in January of 2010
--that all my days are in His more than capable, if unpredictable, hands.

I love the poetry and images evoked by Jesus' words.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Luke 12:22-31
